The purpose of the train-the-trainer program is to improve the transfer from academia to industry trainers in academies and training centers. To bridge the gap between theoretical and mathematical insight and hands-on skills, the body of knowledge at universities needs to be converted in actionable yet accurate learning experiences. Furthermore, truly understanding AI requires the development of a new mindset, which is not always straightforward.
Target Audience & Discounts
This training was designed for trainers in public/non-profit/corporate academies and training centers as well as data scientists that want to upskill their colleagues and teams. Having programming experience and basic understanding of AI, Data Science and Machine Learning is required.
As FARI is supported by the European Resilience & Recovery Fund (RRF), we can continue to offer free access to participants from public administrations, public institutions and research institutions.
We can also provide a 50% discount to participants from the following target groups:
Course Description
AI is a vast domain with many specializations and is in constant evolution. Much of the knowledge is present at universities but dispersed over different research groups and researchers. Unfortunately, this knowledge does not always ripple through to Data Scientists and AI engineers in industry.
Ex-cathedra teaching of techniques is not the right format because it focuses too much on solution strategies while making clear what the problem is can sometimes be even more important. If there is one lesson AI teaches you, it is that reality is far more complex than you realize when starting to solve a problem. However, it takes maturity and experience to get this awareness.
For this reason, we opt for a “mission-based” approach where students are confronted with a concrete problem, without immediately giving them the solution.
The training will deepen and extend the knowledge of trainers on the following aspects:
01
• Introduce novel AI techniques, invented in research but not yet commonly known, to give an edge to AI implementations in Brussels.
02
• Deepen the underlying understanding of AI to improve the robustness of implementations. Mainly, we wish to link coding-level artefacts to both the conceptual/philosophical and the mathematical level.
03
• Extend the portfolio of AI techniques, including lesser known but nevertheless equally important and potent techniques.
04
• Create awareness about ethical aspects of AI implementations.
