Internship Title: Temporary Communication and Office Support Assistant

Location: FARI – AI for the Common Good Institute, Cantersteen 16, 1000 Brussels

Duration: Flexible (from 2 to 6 months)

 

About FARI:

FARI is a non-profit university institute on AI, data and robotics focused on the Common Good. We are jointly initiated by two Brussels universities (VUB & ULB) – uniting interdisciplinary expertise across 10 research groups on AI, data, robotics, social sciences, ethics, and law. We do research and build bridges with public administrations, industry, and citizens, promoting sustainable AI, data & robotics with a focus on urban and public priority domains such as health, mobility, sustainable robotics, climate and energy, participatory and inclusive society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in pre-production, including equipment preparation, location scouting, and logistical planning.
  • Conceptualize and write scripts: Work with the team to develop imaginative and compelling scripts for video projects, ensuring alignment with the institute’s goals and messages.
  • Participate in shoots: set up and dismantle equipment, manage sound and lighting, and film sequences.
  • Contribute to post-production: video editing, color correction, adding special effects, and optimizing sound.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and propose creative ideas for future video projects, ensure consistency and quality in produced videos
  • Perform administrative tasks related to production, such as file management and organizing video sequences.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a program in audiovisual, film, communication, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.
  • Passion for video production and visual storytelling.
  • Knowledge of video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.).
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to manage project and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in shooting techniques, lighting, and sound is a plus.
