On September 2, 2024, FARI – AI for the Common Good Institute (VUB & ULB) has become a part of the COSME Project, which will run until September 1, 2026. This initiative, proposed by Digital Growth Initiatives for Social Economy Transformation (DIGISET), brings together 6 partners from Belgium, France, Austria, Netherlands, Spain, and Romania to empower social economy organizations, particularly social SMEs, in their digitalization journey, with a focus on AI, data, and innovative business models.  

About DIGISET 

Digital Growth Initiatives for Social Economy Transformation (DIGISET) is funded by Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME) project. The project encourages collaboration between social and digital SMEs, as well as support organizations, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and the development of digital capabilities. Its key objectives include helping social SMEs implement advanced digital technologies such as AI and data-driven models, promoting peer-to-peer learning and collaboration, improving access to digital tools, infrastructure, and resources, and offering transnational webinars, training programs, and financial support to aid in digital transformation. 

The DIGISET project brings together a diversity of organizations and institutions, with the key partners including CollectiveUp (CUP), FARI – AI for the Common Good Institute Brussels, Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Social Good Accelerator(SOGA), Impact Hub(IH), EURECAT, Gemeente Amsterdam,  Cluj IT. 

 

FARI’s Involvement  

FARI leads the development of training materials to equip SMEs with the knowledge and skills needed to adopt advanced digital technologies. Moreover, FARI organizes national, international, and online training events, creating opportunities for SMEs to enhance their digital capabilities. Additionally, FARI supports social SMEs in integrating AI and data-driven business models, facilitating their digital transformation. A collaborative approach and peer-to-peer learning are proposed between social and digital SMEs. FARI helps build a strong and interconnected ecosystem that drives innovation and sustainable growth.
