RADAR-AIM (Erasmus+ Project)
On June 1, 2025, FARI – AI for the Common Good Institute (VUB & ULB) will kick off the RADAR-AMI project, which will run until May 31, 2028. This initiative, funded by Erasmus+, unites 5 partners from Belgium, Portugal, Germany and Italy to foster collaboration in AI sustainability promoting best practices, and cross-border co-creation.
The RADAR-AIM project is an international initiative that will explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in sustainability through education and collaboration. The project is centered on cross-border co-creation, sharing best practices, and encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue. Simultaneously, RADAR-AIM aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to delve into global sustainability challenges using AI-driven solutions. RADAR-AIM brings together a diverse range of partners that include FARI-AI for the Common Good Institute (Belgium), D-Teach (Belgium), Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal), Universitaet Bremen (Germany), Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata (Italy).
Furthermore, at the core of the project is the development of a blended, modular program designed to be highly flexible and adaptable. Each module corresponds to a set of micro-credentials, allowing universities and training providers to integrate specific components into bachelor’s, master’s, postgraduate, or lifelong learning programs. This approach fosters engagement among a diverse range of stakeholders. RADAR-AIM seeks to bridge the gap between AI innovation and sustainable development, empowering the next generation of leaders to drive meaningful change.
As the coordinator of the RADAR-AIM project, FARI plays a central role in establishing smooth communication, collaboration, and effective project management. The team is responsible for establishing clear frameworks and best practices that facilitate cooperation among partners while closely monitoring, documenting, and managing the project’s progress.
In addition to its coordinating role, FARI will co-lead communication and dissemination efforts alongside D-Teach, with a particular focus on science communication. This includes making complex AI and sustainability topics more accessible to a broad audience through strategic initiatives.
FARI’s team will also contribute actively to Work Packages engaging in key tasks such as:
– Reviewing and assessing the training program structure,
– Developing, adopting, and reflecting on the program,
– Ensuring accessibility and inclusion of the interdisciplinary team.
Through its leadership, FARI promotes an inclusive, collaborative, and impact-driven initiative that strengthens the connection between AI education and sustainability.
